Totally Locally Lanark launched on Saturday 20 April 2013. The sunny spring day encouraged both locals and visitors into the town centre and experienced local traders were quick to spot a significant increase in the number of shoppers on the streets.
From the start of the official launch, through formal opening with Horse and the Lanark and District Pipe Band we have been delighted with the turnout and enthusiasm of everyone involved. We would like to express our thanks to the Recharged.Energy.Dancers, the Lanark Grammar School Samba Band, Lanark and District Pipe Band, Lanark Music Connections buskers, Lanark Panto, Tracy (our official chauffeuse) and Leigh Milne our Magician for helping to create that special atmosphere in the town. Thanks also to Robert Kennedy for providing and operating the PA System for the day and to Kenny Douglas for his enthusiastic role as compere for the day.
Most importantly, thanks to the people of Lanark who came out in force to support the campaign.
